DEBBIE WILLIAMS,
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (lic. #MH5604)
Debbie Williams has worked as a counselor for over 30 years, after beginning her professional life in elementary education. Her education includes undergraduate degrees from Ball State University and Georgia Southern. She earned a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University.

Debbie started and directed a counseling center in Eustis, FL, serving as the clinical director four a staff of eight counselors, social workers and interns. After moving to Rochester, NY, she worked as a therapist, and later became the clinical director of Agape Christian Counseling Associates.
Debbie also served for 5 years as a counselor for the students at The Baptist College of Florida, in Graceville, FL.

Following Hurricane Michael and the Covid epidemic, Debbie started an online counseling practice, which she continues today.
​
Debbie has been married for 35 years and has two married adult sons and two young grandsons. When she is not with clients, she enjoys being involved with her local church and gardening in her yard (because digging in the dirt is therapeutic).

Debbie Williams is a qualified trainer for pastors and staff who want to be able to use the Prepare/ Enrich online assessment tools for engaged and married couples.
SUPERVISION
For professionals seeking Florida licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Debbie Williams provides supervision to interns via video conferencing (Zoom).
TEACHING / SPEAKING
Debbie Williams is available to conduct training for groups on a variety of topics relating to faith and mental health:
MOPS, Marriage Enrichment, Workplace Grief, Mentoring, Common Place Counseling Skills, Anxious Believers, Battling Depression, Mindfulness, Church Staff Stressors, etc.

WHAT IS COUNSELING FROM A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE?
Christian counseling with Debbie Williams is professional and caring. It reflects the love of Christ and the truth of God's Word. It is not like Bible study and it is not like preaching. It is like learning how to find freedom in who God made you to be.
DO I HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO WORK WITH DEBBIE?
No! Everyone is welcome to participate.
DOES DEBBIE HAVE EVENING APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE?
Yes! Debbie is available on Mondays and Thursdays for evening appointments.
WHAT APPROACH DOES DEBBIE USE IN COUNSELING?
Debbie works from a cognitive behavioral approach. This means clients will be encouraged to focus on making changes in how they think and act. There will be some "homework" as clients practice doing things differently.
DOES DEBBIE PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?
No. As a licensed mental health counselor, Debbie does not have the expertise to prescribe medication but will work with clients who take medication for anxiety or depression and will consult with your Doctor, as needed , for a client's care.
DOES DEBBIE ACCEPT INSURANCE?
No. Debbie provides an affordable option, utilizing a sliding scale for fees that range from $45 to $65 an hour, based on income.
